Panoramic Ponderings

My life. In letters.

pitter patter

Well.

Remember when I had that silly idea that me and Deison would get married in Brazil, and I would live here for like, 6 months at the most while we waited for the visa paperwork to go through, and then by like.. March 2013 we would be on our jolly way back to Canada?

That was hilarious.

Our visa application was finally sent away last week, and I looked on the immigration website and this is what it says: they are currently working on applications received on Feb 18. Every week they move up a week. Which means in about a month they will get to mine. And then it takes about 30 days to process. And then they'll send it to Brazil, where they've increased the processing time to 12 months.

So best case scenario: in 14 months we have an answer.

14 months. In 14 months from now I'll be almost 28. Is this what my life has become? Just waiting around for visas? Geez. I'm trying to make the best of it, I am. I'm trying to actually live my life here and not waste it by sitting around wishing I was somewhere else.

But that's so much easier said than done. When I came here in July I wasn't under the impression I was going to have to stay here for 2 more years, at the least.

Am I being prejudice by thinking it's totally ridiculous that visa applications from Israel, Morocco and Ghana are processed faster than from Brazil? C'maaaaaaaaaan.

Well in other news... it RAINED the other day!! I woke up to this strange sound.. like, it actually woke me up it was so strange... pitter patter on the rooftop. It was 7am, and I jumped out of bed, grabbed my sweats, made some tea and sat outside and wrote in my journal. H.e.a.v.e.n.

I won't add that it only lasted for a total of about 40 minutes, and then later our house was filled with critters like gigantic flying ants, a nasty slug/centipede and a roach. Maybe I don't need the rain after all....

Glad you could enjoy a rainy day although only for a short time. That was a butterfly moment. About the visa, praying you will have patience and see what God will do while you wait.
