Panoramic Ponderings

My life. In letters.

Feasting

You know those kids on the playground who make friends with everyone? They're always smiling... trying to get the shy kids involved... just totally loveable humans.

And then there's that kid that doesn't want to make friends with ANYONE. And it's not that he's shy, it'll be almost forgiveable if he was shy. He's just kind of annoyingly hostile. He builds a castle in the sandbox and then spends all his time protecting it and making sure no one gets close, instead of trying to engage in friendly social play with the others. What is WRONG with that kid?!

That kid is totally me as an adult.

I don't make friends well. It's not that I'm shy, or hostile, I just don't like going through all the trouble of inviting someone into my circle.

Ok so maybe I am hostile.

Anyway, living in Brazil has kind of put all of that to the test. I'm kind of forced to make friends with everyone and be social. Last week we had a bit of a party here for some of our friends who just arrived home from Africa. Deison thought it would be nice if we had some good food for them (doesn't everyone miss food from home when they travel?) So I got busy in the kitchen and created this!

This is what I love about Christmas: feasting!

Homemade bread with melted cheese and homemade fresh salsa

Banana loaf with chocolate chips

A fruit platter with whipped cream/strawberry yogurt dip

Sugar cookies, of course :)

Also made but not pictured: pizza, apple cinnamon muffins, chips and cheese sauce, and stuffing! It was literally a feast... not to mention it made a delicious leftover spread the next day. Yay holidays! :)

What's a good feast without some music?

Well done! Quite the spread. I wonder where you get the "I don't like to meet new people"? Hmmmm

Looks delicious! You must have spent hours preparing all that! (I like the strawberry heart on the fruit dip :)
And yeah, I can relate to the anti-social trait... I wonder if I'll ever outgrow it.
Love you!

glad i'm not the only one... haha :)
